Cabot Arts will host the 2nd annual Cabot Cheese and Culture Festival on Saturday, Sept. 28, from 12 p.m. - 5 p.m. on the Village Common in Cabot, Vermont. The event is offered to the public free of admission.
The Cheese and Culture Festival brings together Vermont cheesemakers with producers of fermented foods and beverages for an afternoon of tasting, education and celebration. Workshops, demonstrations and discussions on cheese, fermented food-making and farming practices will be offered during the afternoon. The Den at Harry’s Hardware will offer cheese and beverage pairings and special menus for the occasion.
The Cheese and Culture Festival will occur alongside Cabot’s annual Fall Foliage Festival day which will add pop-up crafts markets, live music, food trucks, pumpkin carvings, wagon rides, children’s activities and leaf-peeping tours, to the celebratory atmosphere.
The Festival is part of an initiative to enliven the arts and commerce in Cabot, Northern Washington County and the Northeast Kingdom. Participants can visit a quintessential Vermont village, meet the producers, enjoy their creations, and see for themselves how the products are made. The festival will also provide an opportunity for people to learn about farming practices and sustainable agriculture.
