Come for a quiet stroll through the woods and up to Fledgling Farmstead's hilltop event space to see the Climate Farmer Stories exhibit. Vital Communities, the project's sponsor, describes the project's goal as to "promote Upper Valley farmers who are digging in on the climate crisis, using their farms to draw down carbon, and build food security and community resilience." Community members are encouraged to bring a picnic and enjoy the view from the hill top!

This is a self-guided event available Mon-Thurs of Open Farm Week. The farm will also be hosting a ticketed live music event on Fri Aug 9 and Sat Aug 10, during which participants can also view the Climate Farmers exhibit.

No cost or registration needed.

Note: Please park at the farm's parking lot by the farmhouse and blue garage/farm store. You may be greeted by the famers! Follow signs and map to the walking trail. It is approximately a 10-15 minute walk to the hilltop along our woodland trails. Dogs on a leash are welcome to accompany visitors on this walk. Folks needing support with accessibility to the site can email [email protected].

____

Fledgling Farmstead is a diversified family farm in North Tunbridge operating on 190 acres of land that have been farmed since the late 1700s. The 190-acre property is a mix of forest, pasture, and an acre of organically-managed annual crops. Fledgling grows a wide array of vegetables season-long and plant starts for spring plant sales. In addition, they raise 65 layer hens, a flock of mixed-breed sheep, and a small herd of Guernsey dairy cows. They sell their veggies, meat and eggs in their CSA and farm stand, the Chelsea Farmers Market and several wholesale accounts. The farm also manages an event space that hosts community events, camping through HipCamp, and the farm's own music and arts festival called Fledge Fest.
